One of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world costs about $30,000 per night. I would expect everything to be gold plated for this cost and be able to take the furniture home! Look at what you get for your money and decide if you think one night in the penthouses suites at The Martinez Hotel in Cannes is worth it.

There are two suites and you pay this huge fee for the use of both, which can be opened up to join together. They both have a sitting room, dining room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and dressing room. They both have a jacuzzi, plasma screen television and DVD library as well as teak floors, silk curtains and art deco style furniture to match the style of the room.

There is a terrace which has views of the entire Bay of Cannes and it is so large it can fit 100 people on it – so fantastic if you are hosting a party. It has an open bar and a kitchen plus the services of a butler for the duration of your stay as well as access to a limousine.

The marbled bathroom with bathtub, shower and double sink with sauna come with welcome gifts which most hotels no longer offer. The room also has internet connection, a computer, fax, telephone, writing desk and satellite television so if you need to work or communicate then it should be very easy to do so.

The hotel also boasts three restaurants, a piano bar, a private beach, a heated pool and reception lounges. It is suitable for the largest of conferences.

I certainly could not justify this expense myself but it would be fabulous to host a wonderful reception for friends and family in such a fantastic place. I guess we can all dream!
